If you believe a product listed on Owode Marketplace infringes your rights, this document provides a clear process for reporting it.
- What Can Be Reported?
You may submit a takedown request if you are the rightful owner or an authorized representative of: A trademark (e.g., a brand name, logo, or slogan used without permission).
A copyrighted work (e.g., photos, videos, text, or designs copied without permission).
A patent (e.g., a unique invention that has been unlawfully replicated).
Counterfeit goods (e.g., fake or unauthorized reproductions of a branded product).
False claims of authorization (e.g., sellers pretending to be official resellers of a brand).
- How to Submit a Takedown Request
If you believe a listing violates your rights, follow these steps:
Step 1: Gather Evidence
Prepare supporting documents such as:
- Proof of ownership (e.g., trademark certificate, copyright registration, business registration documents).
- Details of the infringing product (product name, URL, or screenshot).
- Your contact information (name, company name, email, phone number).
Step 2: Submit the Complaint

Your complaint must include:
- A clear description of the infringing product.
- Your proof of ownership or authorization.
- A statement confirming that the complaint is made in good faith.
Step 3: Review & Investigation
Owode will:
- Acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 48 hours.
- Temporarily suspend the disputed product while reviewing the claim.
- Notify the seller and request a response (within 5 working days).
- Decide whether to remove the product or reinstate it based on evidence.
- What Happens After a Takedown Request?
If the Complaint is Valid:
- The product will be removed from Owode Marketplace.
- Repeated violations may result in seller suspension or a permanent ban.
- The seller may be asked to prove their authorization before re-listing similar products.
If the Complaint is Invalid or Incomplete:
- The product will remain active.
- The complainant may be asked to submit more evidence.
- If the claim is found to be false or misleading, Owode reserves the right to take legal action.
- What Happens to Sellers Who Repeatedly Violate IP Rights?
Owode Marketplace enforces strict action against sellers who repeatedly sell infringing products, including: Warnings issued for the first violation.
Temporary suspension for repeat offenses.
Permanent banning for continuous violations.
If a seller believes their product was removed unfairly, they can submit an appeal within 7 days by providing proof of authorization.
