📌 How to Use the Regular Shipping System on Owode Marketplace

Welcome to Owode Marketplace! One of the most important steps to start selling successfully is setting up your shipping. This guide will show you how to configure your shipping settings so buyers see the correct delivery fees based on their location.

Owode Marketplace provides two ways to manage shipping:

1️⃣ Zone-Based Shipping (Recommended): Pre-configured shipping zones for each Nigerian state. For a guide on setting up zone-based shipping, click here
2️⃣ Regular Shipping (Alternative Option): A simple shipping setup where sellers set a default shipping price for all locations.

📌 NOTE: These two ways are part of the Owode Velo Shipping Channel.

This guide will show you how to use Regular Shipping if you prefer a fixed-price shipping model.

ONLY USE THIS METHOD IF YOU HAVE A DETAILED TECHNICIAL UNDERSTANDING OF SHIPPING PROFILES.

🚀 Step 1: Access Your Regular Shipping Settings

Log in to your Owode Seller Dashboard.
2️⃣ Click on Settings → Select Shipping.
3️⃣ Scroll down and click “If you want to use the previous shipping system then Click Here.”
4️⃣ This will open the Regular Shipping settings page.

🚀 Step 2: Enable Regular Shipping

By default, this shipping is disabled. To activate it:

✔ Tick the checkbox for Enable Shipping Functionality.
✔ Click Save Changes.

🚀 Step 3: Set Your Default Shipping Price

The default shipping price is what customers will pay for delivery if no other rates are set.

1️⃣ In the Shipping Policy box, write details like:

  • Estimated delivery time (e.g., “Orders are delivered within 3-5 days.”)
  • Areas you deliver to (e.g., “We ship to Lagos, Oyo, and Ogun states.”)
  • Conditions for free shipping (if applicable).

1️⃣ Enter a Default Shipping Price (e.g., ₦1,500 per order).

2️⃣ If you charge extra for multiple products in the same order:

  • Per Product Additional Price: Add a small fee per extra item.
  • Per Qty Additional Price: Add a fee per unit (e.g., ₦200 per extra unit).

3️⃣ Click Save Changes.

🚀 Step 4: Set Your Shipping & Refund Policies

Every seller must clearly define their shipping and refund policies for buyers.

2️⃣ In the Refund Policy box, state:

  • Whether you accept returns.
  • The timeframe for refunds (e.g., “Refunds are available within 7 days of delivery.”)

3️⃣ Click Save Changes.

🚀 Step 5: Add Shipping Costs for Specific States (Optional)

If your shipping price varies by location, you can override the default price:

1️⃣ Click “Add Shipping Region.”
2️⃣ Under “Ship to,” select a country (Nigeria) and a specific state (e.g., Osun).
3️⃣ Enter the cost for that state (e.g., ₦1,500 for Osun State).
4️⃣ Click Save Changes.

💡 Tip: Use “Everywhere Else” to set a general price for locations you didn’t specify.

🚀 Final Step: Test Your Shipping Settings

1️⃣ Visit your store as a buyer.
2️⃣ Add a product to the cart and go to Checkout.
3️⃣ Check if the correct shipping cost is applied based on location.

✔ If everything looks good, your Regular Shipping setup is complete!

REMEMBER: Only use this method if you have detailed technical understanding of how shipping works and can setup unique shipping profiles for your store. Otherwise, use the zone-based shipping described here

🚀 Now you’re ready to sell on Owode Marketplace with your preferred shipping method! 🎉
